Ramlalla Made of Shaligram Stone

This idol was created by Karnataka sculptor Arun Yogiraj which is made from Shaligram rock. It is a black colored stone. In the scriptures and religious texts, the Shaligram stone is considered to be the form of Lord Vishnu, and Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram is considered to be the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Shaligram rock is thousands of years old. It is water-resistant. Applying sandalwood and roli will not affect the shine of the idol.

The total height of the idol of Ramlala from nail to tip is 51 inches and its weight is about 200 kg. The old idol of Ramallah will be taken around the Panchkosi Parikrama of Ayodhya and will be taken to the temples here. After this, that idol was also kept in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram temple along with the new idol.
